Casting Notes:
Sweetwater does not have a traditional musical theater ensemble. It is purposefully an ensemble piece with many principals. While the female-identifying principals play one named role throughout, the male-identifying principals shape shift, taking on several roles (and genders) and forming our “media/military” Greek Chorus. Gender descriptions above refer to the descriptions of the characters as identified in the script – they are not meant to be exhaustive of who should play these roles. Transgender and Non-Conforming Actors are strongly encourged to audition as well.

Synopsis
In 1943, sisters Beth and Frankie join women from across the U.S in Sweetwater, Texas to fly for their country. These Women Airforce Service Pilots risk their lives daily without benefit of military status. From the fringes of history, Sweetwater brings the WASP center stage in a story of the joys and costs of being female pioneers.
