The Magic of JumpStart Theatre: Creating Theatre Out of Thin Air

You might think a school without a stage, a theatre teacher or funding to  put on a production wouldn’t be able to give their students access to musical theatre, but JumpStart Theatre is changing that perception, one school at a time. Join Educational Theatre Association Executive Director, Julie Theobald, Founder and CEO of iTheatrics, Tim McDonald and Director of Education and Outreach at La Jolla Playhouse, Julia Cuppy, as they share how the JumpStart Theatre program is bringing musical theatre to students who never imagined they would be able to experience it. JumpStart Theatre schools learn to use their existing resources: caring educators, a gym/cafeteria, and enthusiastic students, to build a program from the ground up.
