18th Annual Festival of New Musicals

Since returning to New York City in 2003 many of Broadway’s elite have sung Scott Alan’s songs, including Liz Callaway, Jonathan Groff, Shoshana Bean, Adriane Lenox, Stephanie J. Block, Cheyenne Jackson, Eden Espinosa and more.

Scott Alan has sold out concerts of his music in New York City, London, Holland, Germany, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles and Australia.

On May 24th, 2012 Scott Alan’s composition, “It’s Good to See You Again” was featured on the premiere episode of the ninth season of “So You Think You Can Dance.” His work has also been heard in the documentary The Standbys and on VH1’s reality show Off-Pitch.

Leslie has written over a dozen musicals, including the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning THE HOUSE OF MARTIN GUERRE and the Chalmer’s Award winning THE HAPPY PRINCE. She wrote the scores for HARVEST MOON RISING, A MEETING OF MINDS, and THE BOYS ARE COMING HOME, which was produced by Chicago’s AMTP in 2006, and was included in NAMT’s Festival of New Musicals later that year. Leslie composed the music for Toronto’s Canadian Stage Company’s productions of THE BEARD OF AVON and IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, and has spent four seasons composing for The Stratford Festival. Her family musical, THE PRINCESS AND THE HANDMAIDEN, premiered at LKTYP in 2009. Leslie collaborated with Norm Foster on the oft produced THE LAST RESORT and NED DURANGO, and was commissioned to write choral works for both the VIVA Youth Singers and The King Edward Choir.

Michele Brourman is an award-winning singer/songwriter whose best-known song, “My Favorite Year”, has been recorded by Michael Feinstein, Margaret Whiting, Cleo Laine, and more. With lyricist Amanda McBroom, she’s written the songs for 18 animated features for Universal Studios, including the beloved “Land Before Time” series, writing for Reba McIntyre, Michael York, David Carradine, Jodi Benson, Olivia Newton-John, Donny Osmond, Corbin Bleu and a host of others. Her work has been featured in television and film and performed by countless cabaret artists, garnering numerous awards and critical acclaim. Brourman’s work for the theater includes the dance and incidental music for the original Broadway production of “Working”, and the score for the musical “Dangerous Beauty” (with Amanda McBroom) produced at the Pasadena Playhouse. With Sheilah Rae, she’s created a series of short musicals, five of which have been finalists for the prestigious Heideman Award at the Actors’ Theater of Louisville.

Paul Gordon co-wrote the Broadway musical Jane Eyre, nominated for five Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Score. He won a 2009 Ovation award for his score to Daddy Long Legs and won the 2007 Bay Area Critics Circle Award for his book to the musical Emma (NAMT Fest ’06) which has played all across the country. Daddy Long Legs, written with John Caird, has had productions all over the world including London and Tokyo. Being Earnest, written with Jay Gruska, premiered at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley this April. Amanda McBroom’s name came to the attention of the public when Bette Midler’s version of Amanda’s song, “The Rose” hit number one on the charts. Her songs have been recorded by Barbara Cook, Manhattan Transfer, Judy Collins, Barry Manilow, and Reba McEntyre.
She received a Golden Globe, a Grammy nomination, the Johnny Mercer Songwriter of the Year Award, and the Mabel Mercer Lifetime Achievement Award.
She has written lyrics for 16 Universal Animation features, including the Land Before Time series. She was a featured lyricist for the TV classic series, Cop Rock.
She has written two musicals, Heartbeats, and A Woman of Will, and is lyricist for Dangerous Beauty, which had its world premiere at the Pasadena Playhouse.
Her 9th CD of original songs, “Voices,” has just been released on her label, Gecko Records and went to #1 on Amazon.com in its first week.
