BETSY KING MILITELLO (she/her) (Executive Director) came to NAMT in August of 2011 from Outward Bound where she was Vice President of Development, responsible for an $8M annual fundraising goal. Prior organizations in which she served in non-profit administration and fundraising leadership roles include Hunter College, the NYU Child Study Center, Cooper Union and the Big Apple Circus, and she has also taught at Marymount Manhattan College as an Adjunct Professor in Non-profit Management. Following completion of her undergraduate degree at Harvard, she began her career in advertising; after receiving her Master’s degree in Public and Private Management (MPPM) from the Yale School of Management (with additional coursework in administration at the Yale School of Drama), she worked as a management consultant for Fortune 100 companies prior to moving to the non-profit sector. She also has theatre production experience, primarily in stage management and lighting, in both professional and volunteer musical theatre and opera organizations including Glimmerglass Opera and the Blue Hill Troupe. She is currently Treasurer of the Performing Arts Alliance Board of Directors.
ADAM GROSSWIRTH (he/him) (Member Services Director) has been Member Services Director at NAMT since 2008, acting as a liaison to NAMT’s 200+ members, tending to their customer service needs and traveling to theatres across the country. He is responsible for planning, implementing and maintaining NAMT’s many member services, programs and benefits, including two annual conferences, surveys, publications, online services, and the Innovation & Exploration Fund. Adam previously spent ten years as a stage manager, during which time he worked on many Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional and developmental productions, including Spring Awakening, Zanna Don’t!, Here Lies Jenny, Xanadu, Aida, The Green Bird, and Bright Lights Big City, and he spent three seasons as the Stage Management Supervisor at the Williamstown Theatre Festival under the artistic direction of Roger Rees. From 2017 to 2022 Adam was also the Managing Director of the all-volunteer Upstart Creatures, creating “metaphysical feasts” several times a year. He is a native New Yorker and a graduate of Tufts University.
FRANKIE DAILEY (he/him) (New Works Director) is a strategic artistic leader, producer, and programming architect with over 15 years of experience shaping the future of musical theatre. As New Works Director at the National Alliance for Musical Theatre, Frankie oversees flagship programs including the Festival of New Musicals, the Frank Young Fund for New Musicals, and the Musical Theater Songwriting Challenge in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts. His leadership has driven record-setting growth in submissions, attendance, and digital engagement, while launching new artist pipelines and spearheading the department as it exceeds more than $1M in grants to support the development and production of new musicals nationwide. Frankie began working on the NAMT Festival of New Musicals in 2014 and served as both its Line Producer and General Manager before stepping into his current role in 2022. He is the co-founder of Dailey-Monda Management, a boutique theatrical management and producing office that has shepherded Off-Broadway productions at 15+ NYC venues including 59e59 and New World Stages, as well as national concert events featuring artists like Audra McDonald, Chita Rivera, and Barry Manilow. His producing work spans the New York Musical Festival, Musical Theatre Factory, Premieres’ Inner Voices series, and large-scale events at venues including Town Hall (NYC), The Curran (San Francisco), and Royce Hall (Los Angeles). A Fred Vogel Scholar of the Commercial Theatre Institute 14-Week Program, Frankie holds a BA in Theatre and Dance from James Madison University and is certified in Grassroots Political Campaign Management & Marketing through the Democratic National Committee’s Best Practices Institute. His work centers musical theatre visibility and artist-driven leadership across the daily-evolving performing arts landscape.
JUSTIN CANTU (he/him) (Development Manager) is thrilled to join the NAMT team! Hailing from Texas, Justin is passionate about uplifting and empowering underserved communities and utilizing the power of musical theatre and the arts to share inspiring and impactful stories. He previously worked at Livestrong as the Development Manager, where he led peer-to-peer fundraising initiatives, managed the recurring giving program, and was involved in event planning and logistics. Justin is a Texas A&M University graduate, where he obtained a Bachelors degree in Communication and a Masters in Public Health. When he’s not working at NAMT, you can find Justin exploring the city in search of the best Mexican food in NYC and finding great deals on Broadway tickets.
SKYE CONE IVEY (she/her/ella) (New Works Associate) joined the NAMT team in 2022. She worked previously as a stage manager, her SM credits include TL;DR and Missing Peace (NAMT’s 33rd Annual Festival of New Musicals), Frida (Cincinnati Opera/Florida Grand Opera),Tosca (Cincinnati Opera), and Fellow Travelers (Prototype Festival). Skye is originally from St. Petersburg, Florida and has been living in NYC since receiving a BFA in Stage Management from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music. Skye also works as a wedding planner and a mental health advocate with the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
EMILY VORTHERMS (she/her) (Operations and Communications Associate) joined the NAMT team in 2022. She has previously held a wide range of roles from a lounge singer for Cunard Cruise Line to a Patron Services Representative in various Broadway houses in NYC. She has a passion for consent and advocacy within the entertainment industry and has trained with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, and is a certified Rape and Domestic Violence Crisis Counselor through the state of New York. Emily grew up in South Dakota and attended the University of South Dakota, receiving a BFA in Musical Theatre and a Minor in Dance. She is thrilled to be a part of the NAMT team and looks forward to supporting our incredible members.
AMANDA FREEDMAN (she/her) (Program Assistant) Amanda joined the NAMT team at the end of 2023. As an educator and artist, she is passionate about empowering students to become storytellers. She taught 8th Grade English for two years as a Teach For America Corps Member, where she was involved in her county’s Arts Integration initiative, and worked to incorporate art forms such as poetry, playwriting, movement and improv into her classroom instruction. She holds a BA in English from Tufts University and an MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU. Outside of NAMT, Amanda is a lyricist and librettist who collaborates with fellow MT writers on various musical projects.
