ABOUT MEMBERSHIP

The National Alliance for Musical Theatre, founded in 1985, is a national service organization dedicated exclusively to musical theatre. Our mission is to advance musical theatre by nurturing the creation, development, production and presentation of new and classic musicals; providing a forum for the sharing of resources and information relating to professional musical theatre through communications, networking and programming; and advocating for the imagination, diversity and joy unique to musical theatre.

Our 150 members — including institutional theatres, developmental companies, higher education programs, presenting organizations and individual producers — are some of the leading producers of musical theatre in the world.

Application Process

To apply for membership, please click the button below and fill out the application form. We ask for a variety of information about your organization's structure, history and finances to get a clear overview. Click here for a PDF preview of the application. (Not all fields are required or applicable to all organizations, so just fill in what you can, and estimate if necessary!)

Applications are reviewed by the Membership Committee and the Board of Directors. We do this as frequently as possible, but as these are all dedicated volunteers, the process may take a few weeks. NAMT's membership year runs from May 1 through April 30, and dues are pro-rated from the date the application is approved, so you're never penalized if there's a delay on our end. If you're interested in applying to receive benefits for an event in the next month, please let us know and we'll make every effort to expedite your application or allow you to attend as a member.

Please contact Membership Director Adam Grosswirth at (212) 714-6668 x15 or adam@namt.org for more information.
